Hey guys,
So clooooooose.........., Iv been having trouble with my piping on tank,  The tank build been going on for awhile now, I glue all the piping together, I glued some flex pipe and some hard piping, Basically All the flex pipe going into PVC fittings are leaking? ( I didn't have the right tool to cut the flex pipe? some cuts were terrible?) I used clear PVC glue on all of the system! All the glued slip fittings are holding strong, But you gotta keep in mind I have a big pump, I got the reeflo gold and its hooked up to a manifold downstairs.

I need help!!!!! ANY PLUMBERS in sarnia??? that would help!

Driving me crazy!!

There is supposed to be special PVC glue for the flex pipe.  I think its thicker cause there is more of a gap with the flex pipe and the fittings.

I have always gotten away with just using a PVC solvent (cleaner) and doing a generous coat of glue on both the pipe and the fitting and allow a longer time to dry.  The glue is very flexible and handles the gap well if you use enough.  You might need a paper towel to clean off any access.

I used regular glue on mine. I also used solvent before glue.  I also used sand paper and roughed up the piping and the inside of the fitting.

The only this that leaked was the joints I literally forgot to glue.

If its a small leak..  You can shut the water off and dab some glue around the collar. Let dry before and after you glue

Silicone works too but not for permanent fixes.

CPVC will be fine. I use the grey stuff rated for potable water generally. All ways clean the pipe and rough up the outside of the pipe and inside of the fitting with some sand paper. This allows the glue to adhere better. Coat both the pipe and the fitting with lots of glue. When putting the pipe and fitting together be sure to slide the pipe in and 1/4 turn to ensure glue makes contact all around. Plumbing can be a royal PITA! Take your time and it will work out for you.

Thanks a lot guys,

So can i sleep at night with me glueing the hard pipe with cpvc glue?

So what I did was sand paper'd the fitting and the pipe, and glued them around the pipe and inside the fitting?
Even tho I didn't use primer everything should hold right?

I Suck at plumbing sh*T.

So basically I pulled out all the flex pipe out of their fittings and re-glued them with the proper glue, And left the hard piping alone, They seemed solid and cant be pulled out or even moved, when doing the first leak test none of the hard pipe leaked just the soft piping leaked, so I just hope to god its solid and not going to leak on my hardwoods... :eek:

Any One with a 1" bulkhead?????

let me knoo
