Hello everyone. My bubble tip nem hasn't been looking so hot lately. Hasnt been extending at all just been closed up and this is as much as it comes out. Just want to see what everyone thinks. Do they do this for other people? Or is something wrong? What does everyone think?

Thanks for the help.

Water tested fine. Was doing some reading online that nems don't like garlic and I feed with garlic guard for my fish. I'm wondering if he doesn't like that so much?

Temp is 79.2
Salinity is 1.026
Alk is 9.8
Mag is 1400
Calc is 400
I can check these parameters again tonight to make sure.
Do you spot feed your nem? I have been doing that for a while but just started garlic guard because I just got some fish and these past 2 or 3 weeks I've noticed him not coming out.

You don't want to feed your anemone to much , it's better to feed it a very good size chuck of homemade frozen food or table shrimp raw , and maybe once every 2 weeks im on my 3rd anomone because I lost 2 due to feeding to often and to little scraps of food and I believe it started to Rott from the inside out anemone can be difficult to keep your water seems to be okay personally not sure about calcium because I've never had mine under 500ppm lol , but beside the point it shouldn't effect a anemone at 400.

What's your nitrate ?

And could be to close to the out take of your filtration and when the anemone absorbs the water it could get pissed and the drain the water out .

Yeh I have been feeding directly a little bit when I remember, so tonight I'll check some more levels and post them too. I'll try the shrimp raw. How big of a peice?

Well for now I would leave it for a week because I think if you tried to feed it as it's going down hill won't help it IMO .but a big healthy size anemone a 3/8 - 1/2 of an inch . I never had luck with my anemone when they went down hill , I lost 1 because of poor lighting and the 2nd to a new tank switch over and I didn't save enough old water and to much new mixed up water stressed it and died , I hope you don't lose yours :( I have 2 rose BTA at the moment doin well for about a year and I didnt feed them you don't have to . Remeber it relies on photosynthesis and you don't have to feed them mine went 6 months no food and it split but feeding them helps the groth but to much feeding can possibly make it start to rot ,

Are you using carbon, if so, how is it used and was it rinsed prior to application?

Do you have a ground probe for stray voltage?
