Notice To All Reefers!!!!

hey all,
very sad day for me. i spent 600 on a set up for Jordan (removed) or as we all know him captain nemo.
i was assured by him all equipment worked.
well the light the $400 8 bulb geissmann t5h0 doesnt work. i got a bulb out and the fans wont turn on.
this guy tells me in one text exactly as its written
Ha it worked!
i tell him 30minutes after we did the trade i would bring it all back and he can keep the frag as good faith. or at least help me with replacement fans cost or install. i get no response!
please i ask of two things. please be aware this seller is fraudulent and not trustworthy and secondly anybody know how to fix a geissmann t5ho units cooling fans.
i feel i have been very fair and courteous with most you fellow reefers but want to make sure nobody gets screwed by this person as i did.
thanks and dont let this one bad reefer ruin it all.
please anybody that can help let me know

There are many reasons why fans won't work.

Can you post a photo of the fans? Is there a separate power plug for the fans?

Sorry to hear about the sour deal Craig.

Have you tried searching for wiring diagrams or replacement parts yet? I've found with electronics like this that, unless you have training in it, they're pretty hard to repair. Probably easier to just pop a new fan in

Not getting involved but I will say everything worked when it left here .. this guy is nothing but a bully and someone who wants everything for free.. but yes it did work and yes I tested it with my father so I don't know what he did but I am done with it and not entertaining this.

And I tried helping .. I explained the how to wire it and replace the plug I bought a new one at the source.. just a FYI

ya a total bully! Jordan i didnt try to cheat you. i asked you to help cover why the fans wouldnt work or take it back. i had it for 10minutes! bs on it working. its my fault i trusted a fellow reefer and didnt do the full testing deal. thinking the 3rd deal with us i wouldve been dealt with respect and had a fellow reefer help another not ignore text. again be very careful when dealing with certain reefers all.
i tried to settle this between us but you ignored me since 5pm! ignorance is cheap.
at least jordan show some respect and send me a link to how you replaced the fans as you siad or the manual. i am at a loss right now. help fellow reefers out.

Sorry to here that craig most of us all know you been on here dealing with fellow reefers with all your clowns and the great deals you post bro... sorry to hear what happened.

Not taking either side, that being said you need to help us help you

If you can post a picture of the fixture it will help. There are many models of the T5HO by giessman.

Just because you plug it in and the fans are quite does not mean they do not work.

From experience only, ATI fans have a metal ATI logo as a fan cover that is thin metal, if you set the Fixture bulbs up when transporting then this piece of metal could have bent a bit thus touching fan/fans preventing them from spinning.

Another thing could be that the plug has some corrosion on either plug end or fixture end this making a bad connection and preventing adequate power getting to fans.

Or fan wires could be loose/bad connection.


Or... The fans could be dead.

Enough said. Thanks for backing up your claim. He right away accused you for dropping the light. Sorry to hear your loss, Craig.

That's why I don't care when people say I am being paranoid or way too careful when dealing with personal to personal transaction. I can tell you that I had 0 losses and never been cheated. I always approach with extra caution and ask lots of questions. Always test and inspect whatever I buy right on the spot, and walk away when something smell fishy (no pun intended).

Tough situation. I would feel uneasy about refunding money after something has left my hands and I knew it worked. On the other hand, if I was the buyer and it legit didn't work when I got it home, I would be pissed.

Did you try the light before you bring it home? If you didn't, this become "you say he say" situation.
Dishonest people is everywhere like it or not. it is up to you to protect yourself especially for that much of money.
