Odd Couple...

Finally got a pic of the "odd couple" today! LOL!

Is that a tiger pistol shrimp? I've been considering one of those.

I gotta saltwater tank to get that exact pair. Then I found out how much the pistol digs and grabs coral frags and moves them around or uses them as doors. Then I thought about how they also like to bury frags. I then had second thoughts.

Found that and the cost of constantly buying snails and ornamental crabs far outweighed the coolness of the pistols.
Had one that disappeared into my liverock, survived a tank change and everything. Finally had to get rid of the rock itself as he would never come out far enough to catch.
That being said, they are likely my favorite "odd couple" to have.
I think even beating out clown/nem

Are they still a nuisance if paired with a goby? Maybe they suffer from "only child syndrome" without one!

My yellow watchman paired with my blood shrimp. It drove him nuts as he tried to chase fish away while the blood shrimp invited them for cleaning....

Its tiger pistol Jeff. He's not moving too much sand right now but I find them both interesting to watch.

Wonderful picture! I miss my Tiger Pistol and Goby pair. I found the goby on the floor one day about 2 years after I bought them and I haven't seen the pistol shrimp since. I don't know what happened to him. I loved watching them interact. The shrimp never did bury my corals but most of mine weren't near the sand bed.
