I just watched a BRS video on them and their opinion was high. Seemed to be a better unit. I went with 2 finnex units with the temp control, they work as they should.

Have used several, only thing you need to watch out for is the temp will spike and stick on some of the older models at lower wattages. I was lucky to catch it before it roasted my tank. Have not heard of similar issues with the larger ones, definitely the sleekest looking heaters out there. On that note their customer service was amazing and i ended up with 3 heaters for the one that crapped out.

Also really liked the fluval m series. They have a mirrored finish which makes them pretty discreet also as they just reflect their surroundings.

Please don't. I bought 2 for my 120. Both broke just over a year. One just stopped working and the other stayed ON. It kept reading the temp ad the min and wouldn't shut off. Manufacture still offered a replacement for 1 but would only send a different model. You know there are issues when even the manufacturer wont replace them with the same product.

well ffs, why didnt i see this lol..

I read enough good reviews, so i did grab a 300W set.

Ill keep my eye on it, would a regular temperature controller work using them?

set the heaters to 90F and so they will always kick on when the temperature controller tells them?

Just wondering what your expecting for life span of your heater ? I’m nervous of them malfunctioning so buy new ones every Boxing Day and replace the existing ones

For the cost of these particular ones I would have expected more then 1 year. I have had cheaters last years without issues. I am sure most can attest to that. I personally use a controller for my heaters and a back up heater installed so no real concern of one failing

If anyone could or would actually make a bullet proof heater they would put the rest out of business. I'm shocked Ecotech, AI or Neptune have not come up with a high priced but reliable heater.

Exactly! I’d pay a few hundred of a heater that would last 5 years
i have run ehiems for all my sumped tanks over the years, and they have been very reliable.
Just unsightly in a sumpless setup....

Ill look into running a controller, dont like my seafood cooked X_X
