Pine Stand

How many of you out there have a pine stand? I was thinking about making a 2x4 stand but decided to reinforce it with a few 2x4 and plywood for comfort.

Also, the stand holds the tank by the sides and centre brace (3x front to back supports). The bottom of the tank has a frame. Is it fine like that or should i trim the stand so the entire bottom frame makes contact with the stand?

I built a stand for a member on here for same size tank. Used 2x3s. Bottom frame has 1 crossbrace, 2 uprights for each corner, with one in middle of front and back, top the same as bottom with 1/4" ply on top. Skinned on three sides with 1/4" mdf. Not sure if you can make sense of that description! As far as I know, still standing a year later :)

Make sure to seal the wood incase there is any splash or drips. Any non visible plywood could be painted with a marine paint, and the pine stained.

The stand has already been painted. I'm assuming that it was a big box store stand with a paint job done to it.
