That's quite the impressive list from Canreef, Just a Bubble King Mini 160 for 400 is a great deal. I'm gonna send a PM, I will check out the controller, Not too savy when it comes to that sort of thing but It would be nice to even see the tank online,

The Controllers are really nice, a little complicated but one thing is that they are expandable, Can't you just purchase one that has everything already. And a Controller for Dummies book.

if your forum literate you will have zero issues, it just takes some time to do the reading to understand the fundamentals of the apex programming, anything advanced or sophisticated has already be done by someone and all the coding you could possibly need is available by visiting the apex forums @ http://forum.neptunesystems.com/ or by searching on reef central. there is a users guide written by users that covers everything available on their site also. Another bonus is that by the time you get an apex unit it will be updated to run the new "Fusion" software which is supposed to be a major overhaul and update of the UI.

Which ever Controller you use I imagine you have to have Pumps that are controllable or lights that can be controllable, the heaters are a no brain er, same as anything that has a probe, What I'm saying is that what ever else equipment you have, It has to be compatible.

Why I say this is, because of my lights. They're T-5 with three cords for each of two bulbs, Would I have to use 3 of the available outlets just to control my lights?

if you want to run all 3 of the cords at different times etc etc.. yes you need to dedicate 3 plugs on the apex.

even if you use it for just temp control and simple on off timers you can still build in a bunch of safety stuff into it, like if you run an in sump skimmer you can set that outlet to only run if the outlet for your return pump is running.. and give it a 5 minute delay so incase of a power outage you skimmer wont start up and overflow into your sump because it waits 5 minutes to turn on... stuff like that is what makes it work so good. the possibilities are endless

Sounds exciting, Lets say you have 2 Jeabo WP25, they aren't controllable, so all you can do is shut them off and on or can you make them controllable. Is it better to have 2 Tunze pumps that are controllable?

with both the tunze and jeabo you will still have to buy/make the cord to hook into the apex if you want the apex to control them. there are a whole slew of modes people have done up for multiple power heads

Hey everybody,

I am brand new here, first post actually. Just my .02 cents on the WPs, I have 2 on my 125 and I have to keep them dialed down to the lowest settings. I love them and think they are an awesome pump for the price but I don't know if two wouldn't be too strong in a 70 gal. Btw that is good news on the WP10, I never heard that.

Neat thing about the WP 40 and 25, they are controllable!!  It just takes a bit of DIY.  When I'm deeper into my controller development that's one of the plans I have.
