Ya, getting harder to spend $500 replacing my Geismann halides and t-5's when that could buy 5 fixtures and be good for years. I just need to be convinced that they will work as well as the old tech....

Fricken copper band was fat, healthy, eating clams, mysis, feather dusters, got him from an established tank, had him for several months, this morning happy and smiling , this afternoon, dead...
No warning, no evident cause. , WTh.....

Sigh, officially off my to get fish list, too risky IMO

Wonder if he tastes good? [emoji12]

They are perfectly fine for growth, only thing I'm disliking is the colour when they are on both blue and white, I'm considering adding par 38's to help with the colour, or take out the red and the green lenses on the LEDs to see if that helps the colour

How are you not liking the color when both channels are on? Too blue? Not enough blue? Orange in color?

its hard to describe, i think its just to many colours with the red and green and 2 kinds of whites. its not white enough, but at the same time not blue enough if that makes any sense

what i did last night was take some lenses off, ill post a pic in a sec, i took the lenses off the red, green, and 4 whites, to spread it out more and see if that changes anything... i think it did, but it'll take time to tell if i like the new look better or not :)

I took these things apart , and I must say I'm surprised at the quality and tidiness inside the units.
Simply and clean.
