I have used a Maxwaterflow rodi unit and filters for four years. Works great! They have the best prices and you can order other filters from them....... Their rodi units mosly come with first stage as 5 micron, second stage as GAC, and now third stage as carbon block 10 micron, then RO membrane, post GAC carbon, and then DI filter. This will work for you no problem as I have used and am keeping sps and lps and fish. I have however upgraded to their 0.5 micron as first stage and then a 1 micron carbon block filter as my third stage. My setup came with a pressurized tank and ro faucet. Works great! I would recommend to anyone! They also sell all tds meters, float switches, and lots of other stuff with the most competitive prices in Canada. They are located in concord, Ontario and I have been before to pickup filters but with their low and sometimes free shipping it is not worth my trip. From what I could tell they are able to produce good prices because of small overhead.....they are a small company with few employees. This is my two cents....

With my setup I have never found the need to buy an inline tds meter because I can of course test my tds before it enters first stage at my tap, I can test my tds out of RO by using the included faucet that provides RO only, and then obviously I can test my tds after DI......all using a handheld......why bother with inline meters? You don't need to monitor every day lol like your ph, salinity, temp, and such. And if you are changing filters and membrane at regular scheduled intervals then you should not ever have tds creep......most people use filters way beyond scheduled changes and rely on their tds meter to tell them when it's time to change....if you are doing this then I strongly recommend you are certain your tds meter is in proper working order and that you are also testing for silicates, chlorine, and c02.

I ran a aquasafe unit for years with the same DI canister and cheap filters as this unit.  Ya it worked for what I wanted....but than again my tanks were never as healthy back then as they are now.  Also using a dip tds meter sucks compared to an inline and the dual inline helps you judge when to get a new RO membrane or change the DI with the press of a button.  I would never go back to the cheaper inferior products myself.....besides the good stuff is not that much more...especially when you consider all your other expenses in this hobby.

What are you using now? And what were you using then? Not interested in knowing brand names, just filters.

I already said I was using the aquasafe unit.....could never get 0tds out of it and my water was much better than where I live now.  I actually still use the 3 pre-filter canister and RO membrane canister that came with the aquasafe.  Remember a 10" canister is a 10" canister really..only difference maybe be clear or not.  Anyway now I use the dow filmtec 75gpd membrane and Kx Technologies MATRIKX brand carbon filters along with a GE pure pure depth sediment filter.  For DI I replaced the crappy canister that came with it (same one as maxflow one) and also use the nuclear grade DI resin.  I dont bother with the color changing resin because I have a dual tds meter that lets me know when to change the DI.

These filter out last and out perform the aquasafe filters hands down.  But you guys can believe what you want.....just remember I ran them both.

It should have come with everything required to connect it. It also should have included an instruction manual. Make sure you take out the filters and remove the plastic.

Very interesting that you were unable to get 0tds out of the aqua safe.......they must have used a bad RO membrane. I am able to get 0tds out of my RO only faucet but I still put it thru DI filter for my tank.....

I could never get the RO membrane better than 10....was usually 12-15ppm on 150ppm town water.....also DI seemed to burn up super fast in those little canisters.

If I could suggest anything it would be the dual in line tds meter.....at least than even if you filters dont last as long you will know when to change them.

Were you using the sweet professional looking tds meter that comes with the aqua safe package lol?
