Purple Climbing Crab?

Anyone ever here of this... just so on kijiji ontario a small purple crab for sale. Guy didn't know what is was so from his pic I looked it up and this is what I came up with. I did a Google search for any for sale just as research only and no one does... any thoughts

That's exactly what I thought and if you look at the crab close it looks like it's left claw has been ripped right off

I thought the same thing at first, but if you look the claw is there

Pretty sure it's an emerald crab. Flat pinches are emerald crab claws and are used for scraping rocks of algae. Any crab that has pointy claws is bad as they are usually meat eaters.

Ya it's an emerald crab. Great algae eaters, they will eat bubble algae don't bother any corals either. I have owned many.

So my question is this.... can emerald crabs me purple... it's not just his lighting this guy said that this crab is actually purple.

Maybe its actually a Tanzanite crab???

When emerald crabs get big they darken in colour, some develop a blueish purple colour. Plus reef lighting is usually on the blue side as well, could look different under white light.

and it always makes ppl laugh when i say I GOT CRABS !!
