Im ready to do my 150 gal. I have 100 pounds of sand thats been cycling for 2 months in my 75 that i just had thrown a shrimp in to start it. and i have 50 pounds in bags still.  i have 150 pounds live rock that i will be adding, my thing is is this enough to have a good bio filtration cause i have 70 pounds of sand thats been in my display for a year now and was thinking that that sand would be better to use considering all the sand i am thinking of adding to the 150 is fairly new. What should i do or do i not need to worry about it considering i have enough live rock to take care of the bio load?? Hope this makes sense

sounds like enough, but ultimately your bio load will be determined by the number of animals you keep, so you must add them slowly and allow the bacteria to populate and adjust to the load

skim the top most layer of sand and use that to seed the new stuff. you dont want to distrub the pockets of toxins that may be trapped in the middle/lower layers.
