So, Im looking to re-tint the back of my tank? Is it just window tint? or what? And What tint, how black to go?

The tank was originally tinted by miracles. I believe they use regular window tint. I recommend using black vinyl. I just did my cube and it worked out very good. You can generally get the vinyl at any graphic design store. They cut whatever length you need from a roll. Very straight forward to apply and looks great
