Reef Safe

I saw this beautiful pink and white starfish. How does one tell if its reef safe? Do I take the stores word on it? I'd love to have it but...

I would check out Liveaquaria.com . They have quite a few starfish on their roster and give stats for all. Maybe the one you saw is in there. One of the biggest problems with starfish is feeding them . More often than not, they don't get enough to eat and begin to melt away in the home aquarium.

I agree with Yvette, if you know the name google it and Live Aquariums should have the needed info, I use them as a reference for almost everything.

+1 on the liveaquaria. I also use a rule that if it is thick and spiky or have bright colours its probably not reef safe.
