so i woke up this morning to read a text from my tank sitter all worried about the tank being 70 degrees instead of 80..... naturally, i panicked and franticly tried to walk her through hooking up my spare heater which i had forgot to do  :?

after 2 hours of texting with getting nowhere i told her to call my bud who has his own tank to come down and help...

so on his peaceful sunday after noon he gets up and drives 40 min to my place only to call me and tell me my tank is all fine and healthy with a temp reading of 78 (metal halides JUST turned on).... 

so after a huge scare over absolutely nothing im complimenting my tank sitter and saying nice things because i dont want them to feel bad and be scared to tell me if something does go wrong....

F%$K !! im sitting on pins and needles over here.... praying nothing goes wrong... :-\

Kudos to your friend who drove out there to help.  It's nice knowing there is someone there who can.  Also, even thought it turned out to be nothing, at least the tank sitter took the time with your tank and didn't just leave it to chance.

Can a tank even get down to 70?

I'd be happy to see that they actually are watching the tank and paying attention.  All is good.

yeah... its like 30 degrees outside at home and the ac is locked at 23 so.... i dunno if its possible... but i guess...

i am thankful just the incident makes me more nervous  :-\

well im home again and everything is alive and healthy and the corals look better than ever  8)

tank was filthy though (not complaining, just saying lol)

i had no idea it could get that bad in less than 2 weeks.... ridiculous.... completely covered in brown algae

but its still alive so im happy

Mine looked better than ever when I came back too, I wonder if in our heads we imagine everything dead and lifeless, and when we see them alive, they look better than we remember?
