Removing Algae From Coral Frag.

So I bought a few frags before Christmas, and one of them has sprouted some hair algae.
My question is what would be the safest route to remove it. I've read mixed things on hydrogen peroxide.
My tank has some how miraculously never had hair algae even though I have bad nitrate. don't want to risk introducing it now.
I think its called a trumpet coral. I'll post a pic in a few minutes. Its right below the polyp on the stalk

Pics just to show the type of coral. I know many respond to treatments differently

Sorry also worth noting this frag has not yet been placed. but if off the plug in the sand. Figure i'll solve the algae before attaching the stalk to my rock.

If you take the coral out and spray some hydrogen peroxide on the base being careful not to get it on the tissue. It will be gone after. You can put it back into the tank after without rinsing. This small amount will oxidize in the water and be fine. If you really worry you can rinse the bottom after and use a tooth brush or other plastic brush. This is the safest route if you are worried.

Since the algae is at the base of the tissue part of the stock i dont know if i can get it only on the algae without touching the underside of the polyp. Could i soak a toothbrush in it and brush off the algae, so as to limit contact with the polyp?.

Canadianeh you can buy it at any pharmacy. Ita used to clean scrapes. There is higher concentration stuff but dont know where to get it.

Also yes i know it will just split back into oxygen and hydrogen when under water so not worried about that at all. Mostly worried of loosing the frag. Ive read some people submerse zoas in the stuff without too much issue, but trumpets are so much more "fleshy" if that makes sense

+1... Should not be a big problem. You can dilute the 3% Peroxide. Just Google it and you'll find lots of answers. There are even youtube videos.
