Hey all
I plumbed my new tank tonight and the way I needed to plumb the return through a hole in the stand makes it near impossible with pvc (without using 90 elbows). I want to use flex hose for the portion under my stand then pvc after. What 3/4 flex hose should I be using ? Also how do you go from flex to pvc ? Is there fittings for that ?

Flex fits like regular pic with the same glue. A little help from you includes a picture or 10, size of pump, tank etc. why are you using 3/4"? It's super restrictive. I'd use 1" and squeeze it down at the output into the tank.

The flex that Ben is referring to is spa-flex aka tiger flex and it is the stuff to use. Not ipex or other flex hose that would require restrictive adapters or barbed fittings.

Ok did some reading sounds like I need spa flex. Hope its flexible enough to make the exit out of the stand and back up the wall to the Return.
As for some background...Pump is the new Jebao DCT4000 dc pump, Tank is 70G cadlights. It had 2 holes drilled at the bottom of the overflow. I wanted it to be silent as the tank is right next to the couch so I used both for drains. The Return is plumbed straight out of the sump but its tough to make anything work to get the return out the vent hole at the back of the stand to get it over the back of the tank and into the acrylic overflow. I want to go hard pipe out of the tank to flex to make it out of the stand then back to hard pipe to go over the tank.

Can calculate the areas of a one inch vs 3/4. I believe splitting it into two 3/4 is closest.

Will you damage anything by going from one to a single three quarter....not a chance.

Can you run three quarters all the way from the pump.... Yup but your friction losses will be much more pronounced. Again will not damage anything. But will cut back your pump flow.
