i use 5 gallon culligan jugs  i find my tds goes up in 2 days if yu use pails ..or use some old5-20 gall galls aquariums

Have a brute rubbermaide, and it is leeching. Picking up a 37 gallon tall tank for my new ato holding tank.

I use 5 gallon food grade pail ( you can get them from restaurants, especially when you used to work there.)

I use one for ATO water haven't had a problem with it yet

My ATO water goes into an acrylic tall tank. I am looking to buy a rubbermaid bucket for the food industry. It will reside in my locker until it is time for a water change. Right now, I am using a pair of salt buckets.

How does one determine if a pail/bin is 'food grade?'  Is there a special marking to look for, or is it determined by trial and error through TDS measurements?

I'm trying to find a suitable container for my RO/DI top-off water storage.  Doesn't need to be big, a salt bucket would do I suppose - great suggestion, but I would love to use something with flat sides to make installing a float valve easier.  Sounds like a tank may be the cheapest option, but I already have a couple of 18 gallon Rubbermaid totes that I would like to rule out before buying anything.

Not sure - will check it out once I'm home from work, Youtube is blocked here.  I have the ATO system pretty well figured out just need to find a suitable holding tank.  Thanks for the link!

I use a 30G glass tank for my RO/DI resevoir. I also have a Rubbermade food grade container with RO/DI water in it but I only use that water for rinsing additives, cleaning equipment, etc.

I would just get a 10g glass tank, brand new, that way you have NOTHING to worry about. That's what I use for my ato and I love it.

i bought a pail from lowes that has food grade all over it and the labels  and still top upwater will go up as the days go by  ..it says 0 tds after days only in a glass aquarium and culligan water jugs  ..so i just use a 5 gallon glass aquariium form petsmart
