Just curious if its normal for a dual DI to become exhausted after 2.5months of use?? My finished water is now testing at 002 003 when i was 000 10 days ago. My tds coming out of the R0 unit is 002. And ive only ran 200gallons through it maybe. Is this a normal thing?? Thanks

would it not depend on what was in the water before going through the unit.. if the water is crappy then your membranes aren't going to last as long..have you tested the water before going through the rodi.. curious what the readings would be..

If your prefilters are bad and you are getting chlorine in your membrane then your membrane might be toast which will cause your DI to expire faster, can you test your tds before your DI.

Won't hurt to run an extra filter before the whole unit, just get one of those $30 kits from CT and use a carbon block as your prefilter, disposable filter. Help to keep the cost of expensive filters down. I think those ones are rainpure brand or something like that.

It's obvious your membrane is working but like Sewerat said, I would try to get it lower going in to the membrane.
002 before the resin is good, where did you get your resin, the last batch I got from brs seemed to exhaust quickly but my latest batch seems better.

I would say not normal at all. If this is the stuff from me?

Did you manage to get containers packed? Whatever I put in bag is expected to fit into refillable container. (Doesn't work properly if not packed tight enough)

I know there is a Bulk Reef video. Ill try to find and post for people to watch for future reference

DI resin does exhaust quickly. A lot quicker than you think.
I personally wouldn't run colour changing stuff. It changes colour well before it starts kicking out higher tds

Sony Xperia Z3

The stuff I use and sell isn't colour changing because I replace on a routine basis.

A double DI canister should handle 200g of water easily.

I run 10 stages, 3 resin and get about 1500 gals, filters last almost a year, I change the prefilters every six months.

Are you recharging your resin? It doesn't last as long this way I have read.

If your R.O. is putting out water a 2 ppm then that is great. R.O. water is rated by NSF standards as less the 20 ppm. D.I. however should be 0 - 1 ppm max. I have found that there is a big difference in resin quality lately. Speaking in larger terms of water softeners. so perhaps you got a bad batch. Hard to say....
