He says that a representative from the company that makes the kits showed him how to properly use them , but instructions don’t really specify ? :s

He could be right, I have noticed that sometimes the liquid level is inconsistent, mine is usually at the .82 mark.
I don't know why they don't use the liquid line as the mark instead of the plunger. There could be discrepancies in the plastic tip as well.

I don't think it matters where the fluid level is, whether it be at .82 or .85. What matters in that the plunger starts at the 1.0 mark. From there you are adding the same amount of reagent until the colour changes and you mark where the plunger is on the syringe. As long as you aren't completely emptying the syringe (in which case your Alk would be off the charts high) the amount of reagent being added is the same regardless of amount you start with. So while making sure the tip is on tight and fully inserted into the reagent liquid when drawing-up the fluid and no air in the tip, you’re good :)

Yeah that’s kinda what I always thought .. thanks for the input , I really thought if it matters that much it should tell you in the instructions.. which it doesn’t.

It's interesting, i agree with luke. I'm about in couple month do some Reef Test Kit video, so always curious to see what people think about it.
