So far the last little while ive been using h20 salt, but am getting sick of paying that much for salt. Has anyone used one of these but then switched to the other? Just want to know if anyone noticed a difference in their dosing or anything like that? Is it really worth paying the $80+ for h20 salt?
Elements deplete daily so i dont see how this higher brand salt with higher element concentrations is going to benefit anything unless your doing daily water changes.
Please anyone with experience in thia area please chime in, its time for me to restock up on salt and want to make a desicion on what to do.

Not as experienced as others on here but I think using io is better because as you said your elements will deplete and you'll have to add suppliments/dosing anyways

I found that I stopped dosing when I went to H2o salt. I have liked it so far, but I will be looking at 6 or so buckets a year. I like it so far and plan on sticking to it for a while. It seems to mix better and I have not noticed any residues left over afterwards.

I use the Omega Sea Premium reef salt that I buy from Aquariums By Design and it works great and for a good price. I switched from Aquavitro salinity for reef and it was expensive. The omega works as good if not better and mixes better. I have cut down on my dosing because I do weekly water changes. Best part of all it is cheaper then my previous brand.

good to know, considering I am/will be setting up a coral tank...What do you guys suggest for a fowlr tank. I think that there was a discussion awhile ago about IO and phosphates if I'm not mistaken..I am battling phosphates right now and I use IO..hummm

This is funny I was actually gunna start a thread the other day on what kind of salt everyone is using and what is the best stuff. I've used omega sea, just finishing a fluvial sea tub, and next will be IO reef crystals. I don't dose but my nano gets enough water changes to need to and my 72 gallon doesn't have high demanding coral in it yet.

Yeah it definately doesnt stop me from dosing since im heavily stocked with sps. Right now im dosing roughly 60mls of alk a day and about the same for cal.so id have to do a water change everyday to keep up with the demand unfortunately. May be more beneficial for me to go back to reef crystals.

Just mixed a batch of IO RC
Calcium (tested twice) at 1.026 is only 322ppm
Crazy low.
(I think I should have stayed with Salinity)
