He really does know what he is doing with DIY LEDs. UV ones are the trick I think. Plus water quality of coarse

UV does color corals up quite a lot. Like if you go outside and you sun tan and your skin darkens. Your skin colors up to protect itself. Same with corals they color up to protect themselves. Plus good water quality of course. That is why MH work so well at coloring corals up. Lots of UV.
