Yeah i do as well.  I think when the wrasse cornered the goby instinct took over.  Not fully though, because it wasn't hunting and didn't eat it. Animals don't kill for sport!

So sorry to hear this Jeff, my green bird has never bothered any other fish in the tank. Hope the sailfin settles down

Sailfin is fine.  Always asserts himself when new fish arrive.  The wrasse hasn't bothered anything else.  You were right about the mandarin!  Very cool!
