Hi Guys: I have some beautiful shells that I brought home from down south that I would like to put into my aquarium. I have read a number of different opinions on what, if anything, I should do to the shells before putting them in my tank. Can other's please share your advice? Thanks

IMO rinsing them with regular tap water should be enough. They are just empty shells with no dead tissue I assumed.

I would boil them to kill any bacteria that maybe attached to the shell and rinse with saltwater really well. Just my opinion though:)

I've brought shells back from the caribbean and put them in my tanks with no issues
Definitely boil them
AND Definitely check them inside ! One time I found a hermit crab in one of the shells !!
