So I didn't take any photos yesterday I left my camera at work.

I did install the LED over the tank and wow is it bright. 3 fixtures will give me all the coverage I will need. I used the light meter and with the sensor at 32"-33" water depth, which is the sand bed I was still getting 250par.  That should be enough for sps at the bottom of the tank.

So arrived home from work tonight to a broken tank.  No not the big one.  My 40g QT tank that is plumbed to the sump had cracked in the bottom from the drain hole.  It was empty and the sump was empty.  Unfortunately the dart pump was still running and running dry for long enough that it seems to have ruined the seal.  So now I need to find out if I can get more seals.  The bigger issue is to replace the QT tank, I have to cut most of the plumbing to the frag and fuge tanks, empty them move the stand, cut the plumbing to the QT tank.  Then replace the tank, and repair all the plumbing.  Wasn't what I was hoping to do.  In all the time I have had tanks I have never had one break like this before.

Anyone happen to have a 30"x12"20" tank lying around?

Picked up two more of the LED lights todayi.  Boy the tank is now bright, will update some pics.  I also picked up a replacement tank so tomorrow I can get the cracked one swapped out.  Also found a source for the pump seals so things are getting back on track.

Walked into big als to get the tank, and they had one of my favorite fish, a blonde naso tank with streamers starting in excellent looking health and on sale to boot.  I am still not sure how I managed to not buy it.  Good thing it is all the way back in toronto so I can't just stop and get it.  Gotta stay out of the stores for a while.

So thought I should post an update.

I have replaced the qt tank that cracked and it is plumbed back in. The frag tank I broke while moving it out of the way of the qt tank still needs to be replaced but since I have no corals atm I figure this is low priority.

The seals to repair my pump arrived today. I got 5 sets so I can repair my return dart as well as my 2 backup darts.

The arduino controller arrived yesterday. Hopefully I can program it this weekend and build the controller for my closed loop system. Just need to find the programming software and figure out how to connect the shield to the controller.

On the livestock side the tank now has 2 black clowns that I picked up from reefreak.  They seem to be enjoying the tank. The haven't went near the live rock that I have seen but have adopted the fro t corner of the tank as home.

To keep the tank clean I have picked up a 140 assorted snails. A big thanks has to go out to stace at aquariums by design  for the great deal as the bulk of the snails came from him.

Well not much has changed. We got a trailer last fall so basically if we had any free time this summer we were camping so the tank was not a focus.

I tried a couple corals and they were really doing well. But with the travel, not having my ato setup, not having water changes sorted out and my skimmer going down they moved on.

On the fish side I have had mostly good luck. Current stock is 2 small yellow tangs, a small chocolate tang a large blonde naso, a female bellus angel, a pair of black percs, a black ice(I think) clown, sand sifting goby,  pyramid butterfly, cleaner wrasse and some mean little pink like wrasse.  The wrasse has got to go somehow though. I blame it for the death of my flame wrase pair, a cleaner wrasse and the othe black ice clown. It continually bullies them all. So my $15 impulse buy has cost me $300.

That sucks on the fish loss, :(

But now it's winter and you have lots of time to work on your tank and post nice pictures for all your extended reef family :D
