Anything on them?, anything on the stalk or mat? I say this bacause it sounds just like what I had when I first got a couple kinds, is there tiny white fuzzies on the stalk?, or little blackish dots on the mat?,, either or dip em in peroxide solution, one dip did it for me, haven't had an issue since...
