Just finished modifying my sump to fit the skimmer where I want it. What do you have the air control set to teebone?

Ya Im very happy with my choice. its still frothing up a storm lol. I finished modding it all to run in my setup. I have decided to hold off on changing over the valve, as I couldnt find a pvc gate valve anywhere in town lol. I did however add some pvc tube to the output and re routed it a bit to discharge into the next compartment of the sump.

moved stuff out of the way to see the pvc I added to raise up the valve location..untill I can get my hands on a good gate valve. and also to discharge into the next sump compartment. This leaves just a light trickle down the baffle wall, so very little not actually running thru skimmer.

Hi Blob,

Looks like your skimmer is happy in its new home!

I have my air setting on max, but inserted the additional silicone tube onto the the airvalve nipple.

Also I have the "tiny" bubble height adjusted so that it is level with the bottom of the collection cup.

With the water level staying consitent i(about 7.5 inches) in my sump, I usually have about 1/2 cup of skimmate after a week.

I think everyone is different in how they like to adjust their skimmers, but this seems to work for me.

thanks for the links.

damn if I woulda known Mr.Saltwater tank bought a swc160.....I never woulda bothered doing the poll :p

strange enouph, im not minding the stock valve at all. I thought just by looking at it, I would be swearing in no time lol. But it functions well for the skimmer. I may change it one day just for something to fiddle with, but its definitly not necessary. Note-If you have one and your valve is somewhere you may hit it with your arm during regular maintenance...I would probally make changing it a priority.
