Anyone seen anything like this?

Enough of the SLIME!!!
Nobody knows the reason. I am the only on in the hobby with this miserable affliction. No carbon dosing, running GFO and carbon, and not adding anything to the tank.

Just a small bit of what accumulates in the sump.

Two weeks ago my skimmer was spotless. All the slime is trapped in the bottom.

Drips off of all my heaters and power cords.

If anybody has any ideas let me know. Thanks.

Holy Ghost Busters. Have you had any major tank changes lately? Except for color, it reminds me of Feric Iron, which is a bacterial coagulation.

try and think back to what changed in the tank just before the slime outbreak, that might give you a clue.. when you said that you are dosing with vitamin c, is it food grade and what form is it in..capsule...
if its for human consumption then there are a lot of additives in it...
dissolve an empty capsule in water and see what you get.. slime..
good luck and keep us posted, this could be very valuable..

I found this http://pets.thenest.com/white-slime-saltwater-aquarium-13087.html

" How Did it Get There?
The bacteria Alcaligenes faecalis has no natural reason to be in a saltwater aquarium. Two cases of white slime investigated by Lance Ichinostubo found alcohol and plug-in room deodorizers to be the most likely culprits. The alcohol didn’t get into the aquarium through drunken negligence, however. In this particular case, the white slime was affecting the aquarium in a dentist office. The dentist was using alcohol to sterilize his instruments, resulting in airborne alcohol particles finding their way into the water. In the second case, the plug-in room deodorizer was pumping out an alcoholic mist into the atmosphere"

Sorry guys it was late when I posted this, I should have said that this is not my tank and that I seen this on Reef Central. I just was shocked and could not believe my eyes. First words out of my mouth " who you gona call " and thought of Bill Murray lying in the Hall covered in slime.
