The corals started to slime up pretty well immediately. I had already changed 5 gallons and I buy the ro from a store so there was no way of getting more. Was late when I attempted this disaster. Every coral was in shock and the candy cane and open brain was the worst at the start. I figured I lost everything. Next morning got some water and did another five gallon change. Knew that the peroxide should have already disapatted but also new that the corals had all slimed up and fouled the water. It was a call I made.
The green slimmer I bought at the London show was done along with the pink lemonade I bought off Kevin tran. I had another Sps from canadacorals and it bite the dust.
All the other corals came back. Everything was recovering and for the first time I got the red slime. Soon after that I bought a 425 power head for more movement. Syphoned off the red slime and started the journey back. The next few days all the algae razor caulerpa turned white and I removed as much as I could. I lost a Blenny too. The algae stayed away for two months not a leaf. Thought I was out of the woods. Then it came back.
I cut feeding back to twice a week stopped putting fuel additive in the tank and bought chemi-pure and filter floss.
Learning experience for sure.
