well, things were going well...too well actually.
On Wednesday i got an alarm from my apex there was a leak. I raced home from work, made it here in about 30 min from the alarm and noticed the tank looked fine from the display side. quickly ran into the fish room to see not water all over the floor, but foam. My skimmer was going insane and it foamed so much it was overflowing the sumps. I didn't really click in until what sounded like the Gyre was struggling a bit so i went back around the main display only to find my anemone had become one with the gyre.
needless to say it was a goner, but on closer inspection so were all my fish in my tank i had up to that point. the only things to make it out alive at the time were the clown fish and a dotty back, the rest all poisoned to death from the shredded anemone. it is my own damn fault too, i had introduced a second aneonone on the other side of the tank a few days ago and it seemed to find a home and was rooted nicely. well it must have uprooted, pissed off the other aneonome and then they got into a battle until one ended up in the gyre shredded.
had to tear down all the rocks, find all the hidden dead fish and then put everything back together again. I have been doing water changes now for a day so basically ive managed about a 50 gallon swap so far. will continue all weekend with the water changes and running massive amounts of carbon.
Fun stuff i tell ya!
