replaced filters in ro/di and got 0 tds now. Happy with that.
I also brouaght some samples in from both my fish tanks too work and tested.
Old tank
got 0 phophates and 8 ph.
New tank
got 0 phophates and 7.6 ph.
This is the second time i have gotten 7.6 for ph. Is this an issue, everythinhg seems too be fine in the tank.

Also, this is the first time i have gotten 0 for phosphates. I am running a gfo reactor in new tank and a bag of gfo in the hob filter on older tank.
So the bag in a filter concept seems too work.

thanks for any input. I am only concerned with that ph.

7.6 is low IMO.....lights on or off.....
Would be interesting to know what ph values range from during an entire 24 hr period......
What are you using to test po4?

I only had test strips for alk, and they were good.
Lights had only been on for abut 2 hours when i took the sample.

I use the equipment at work too do the test. Good quality tests that are calibrated.
When i use the ati test kit at home for my ph it shows both tanks the same. Above 8ph.

I know. You around this weekend. I will pick it up.
Which one did i get from you....lol. I cant even remember.

I should add also, i run the lights on my old tank about 12 hours a day.
The new tank with  the lower ph has had reduced lighting, slowly bringing it back up.
They are at blues 7 hours and all lights for 5 hours, but thats only the last 4 days.
Maybe that has something to do with it.

PH is  a tough one to check if its not right away after you collect the sample.. just for fun.. next time you do a test.. check the PH.. if its 7.6 again.. take the bottle of tank water and shake the crap out of it for 20 seconds.. let the bubbles settle and run another test.. see if your results vary at all.

The ph test was done while it was being agitated with a magnet in the bottom of the bottle.
But you are right, i did the test without agitation and then put in the magnetic agitator and the ph went up .2
But never above 7.6.
Now the bottle was sitting for about an hour before test, but was cappped.
Maybe that makes a differance.

I never test my PH either, I test my DKH and my Calcium and if its on the mark and everything is good then I'm good with that. My present tank isn't what I'm going by mind you just what I've done in the past. I do also test Phos and Nitrate of course

Ya, i think i might not bother with ph anymore.
Everything else is good.
The tank seems very happy, and everything is growing.
thanks for the help

Mike
