Anyone have any ideas as to how to deaden the vibrations coming from the PVC and pump? It's a constantly annOying humm...

get some roxul safe and sound and wrap it.  i don't hear anything in mine though.

Ok the pump has flex before the PVC and I have a minor humm coming from the pump in the bottom of the sump. I can't locate a sponge at the moment and I'm worries about build up of gunk and nutrients. I put eggcrate under the pump and it helped a little. Now I need to eliminate the sucking sound from the overflow drains an I'm set. Tried putting in some air line but it doesn't help. I'm also running two overflows in order to keep up with the pump. Pictures soon to come. If I could upload from my phone I'd have em up already...

Another way to dampen noise from your pump is to add silicone/rubber tabs to its bottom.

You can also try to connect a silicone hose directly from your pump to the return tubing. Not sure where to find it though?

If your sump is in an enclosed cabinet, you can line it with styrofoam. Every little thing can make a difference.

What kind of pump are you running from the return? Depending on the pump you may have no option but to live with the noise as this is where price differences come into play. Less expensive pumps are usually louder, run hotter, and consume more electricity whereas higher end pumps are quiet, cooler, more energy efficient and some are even rebuildable.

Are your overflows hang on or drilled. If the tank is drilled you can build a durso or internal pvc coast to coast overflow, or if you have multiple holes you can design a bean-animal.
