Hi. I am sure someone has ordered specific fish for their tank in the past. What is a realistic time frame for delivery. I am not talking about some ultra rare specimen. Thoughts?

Depends on the fish, the region it is from, and if it is already here with a wholesaler, or if it has to be brought in. From a wholesaler in the US for example, or if it is overseas somewhere. I have been waiting for a Magnificient Foxface for over a month and a half.

I have found trying to get some fish almost impossible. It seems like wholesalers, the ones I have reached out to don't seem interested in doing a special order even with a downpayment. One said they don't want the responsibility in case something happens to the fish when in transit. Others not even interested in looking and others never even got back to me about the fish.

some ppl think that they just have them sitting on a shelf waiting for a buyer...find a wholesaler that has a good track record..we are getting to be a " I wanted it now" society...

Oh, after the wait he finally came in. They kept him for about 10 days for me first. Drove an hour to get him and they had come in that morning before I got there to find he had jumped. Found him on the floor. So the wait continues and starts again.

Whole sale company's prefer to do business with other retail establishments. Most won't give you a second thought if your not a business.

You would have to order through a store. What you are suggesting is like calling Samsung Canada to buy a TV from distributor. Clearly not the proper channel.
