You ever heard of Acans,Yumas,Recordia,Duncans,Frogspawn,Favia,Candy Cane,Torch,Hammers,Brains,Sinulara, These are all easily kept and Colourful SPS aren't everything, Sticks as my wife says. There is so much more to Reef keeping, Zoas, Mushrooms, Leathers Yellow or Krypto Grn Toadstools, Multi colour Brains, Hammers. Now you're talking. There are Multiple colours of Candy Cane. Your 220 and a tank full of softies,LPS Zoas and some montis and Hardy SPS  That;s a Reef tank.  Don't get discouraged just change gears a bit.

Agreed, well said

What Jewel said except mushrooms, they're EVIL!

hey, if you want a sweet fowlerwm (with mushrooms ) all you need is some awesome muchrooms, if you take a look at my old 92 g pred tank it was full of rusty shrooms and if i would have kept it i would have kept adding more and more, it can look pretty cool

I tend to agree with u.. But to get to sps most have to travel through lps and soft corals first

Sorry to hear about your losses Tony :(.  Keep at it as others are saying and try reintroducing SPS again later on.  I'm with you on the "ugh softies and LPS" comment, not my thing for the most part... I love watching the hairy sticks... but it may be a decent option to add some of those in the mean time.  Euphyllia corals are cool (torch, hammer, frogspawn)... duncans are also very neat... and LPS are a cinch to keep.  Should be fun adding in a few and watching them grow.

Hey Man, LPS is where it's at. Reefing is a long term project, Anybody and I mean anybody can go out a spend a Grand on SPS stick them in there tank and watch them die. You might as well keep a Frag tank.

I like all coral.....sps, lps, chalice, zoos......i have found that it can also be challenging to keep many rarer lps, chalice, and zoos.....usually the ones i like the most lol. But tony if you cannot keep any of darryls or other aquacultured corals alive in your tank then there is definitely an issue. I started with just fish, then fish and some lps, eventually added some zoos, and now with lots of sps i have the mixed reef i wanted.....5 years later lol..... and keep in kind that the whole time i was into it hardcore just like you. You got lots of great hobbyists here to help you and we all want to see you with the tank you want in years to come.

If it makes you feel better I can't keep sps alive unless it has an actual mouth and I can feed it.

???? Your tank says otherwise

Nope, I hand feed every lps in there.  Torch whithered away and died not too long ago.  I hand feed duncans, acans, frogspawn, and it's about a 50/50 chance if even zoas will make it.

The way I look at it...it feels awesome to watch corals grow, not so awesome watching them die. Like everyone else's suggestion, rock some other corals, get some killer fish and just let the tank do its thing. Once it has stabilized you will be able to start possibly stocking with some easy sps to see where tanks at, then go from there.

I broke down and got me some LPS.

Got myself a golden hammer torch and some gay zoos.

yipee.

theres no point in being in this hobby if your not going to enjoy it, dont SETTLE for lps, because settling for something WILL not make you happy and you'll just be wasting more money and you'll get bored/sick of it and sell it all off anyways.

it would be awesome for you to create a cool lps and softie tank, but you have to WANT that... if you dont really want that, then you may as well sell everything saltwater and get some monster fish again ( which are pretty cool too btw)
im saying this as a friend, im not trying to be offensive and im sry if it comes across that way...

in the mean time, check out these awesome lps tanks:
