Surprise Bristleworm

I picked up a zoa rock to blow some sand off (with a power head) I had just stirred up and and a massive bristle worm was attached to the bottom...I have lots of them a few inches long but this guy was a easy 7-8 inches... well I drooped that rock and jumped back pretty fast haha

If that happened to me, fish would be caught and removed, corals be damned, and I would see how well one of those suckers would survive the winter. Someone better get me a bucket.

I didn't have any in my big tank thanks to my greenbird wrasse, but my 30 gallon had some. If I saw a big one I would put a piece of shrimp out far enough that it would have to leave the safety of the rock and come for the shrimp. A long pair of salad tongs and I'd usually be able to grab that sucker and flush it

The turkey baster was more for getting rid of the sand on the rocks...as for the worm....f#ck that sh!t, nuke the thing lol

I might be stating the obvious lol but there is a big difference between a euncid worm and a Bristle worm
Imo bristle worms get a bad rap they are great part of a clean up crew and free

Very true, most of the time bristles worms and flat worms get out of control in tanks that have excess food source (overfeeding) I have found that they will self regulate. That being said a coris wrasse or hawk fish can help.

the smaller ones that are a few inches I just leave alone but these monsters that i come across i pull out and flush...mainly cause they creep me out lol

I'm with saltyair, Bristle worm are good CUC but get rid of euncid worm...

youtube euncid worm vs lionfish a member posted before and still have nightmares..... as for bristle worms i had lots in my 65 but havnt found a single one in my 125 reef yet good detrivores from what i understand long as they dont get out of control euncid worm deserves a horror film
