If I understand right, there are some larger parks that you can gather at and have a bbq with picnic tables and pavilions covered areas. I think an example is Mohawk park in Brantford. But I bet there are others in different cities.

I have a huge yard just north of London and no neighbours. I could host or if at another location would like to attend. Only drawback here is my tank sucks. Lol.

Much better to do it at some ones place as Woodstock charges for pavilion rental. Kids birthday parties have been kicked out for not having reservations. Even if there is only 20 people any municipality is going to charge if they can... That's government tax you to death, then tax you to use what you already pay for. Definitely like the idea of out of town meet & greet.

That is exactly how Brantford got started. Started as a potential BBQ and exploded. A simple BBQ where someone just says, hey, come over, would be great and simple. Trust me, once they go bigger, they are a huge headache. I have neighbor issues at the moment, so my place is out.
