Just wondering how high everyone keeps there light up from water line
I'm currently running an 8x54 watt ati

That tank is about 18" deep

Id run it around 8inches above.

I wouldnt go anymore then 9-10hrs. And i personally run all blue plus and a purple plus. But i think on my new 8×80wat ATI ill be going 4 Blue Plus,1 purple plus, 1actnic, and 2 aqua blues..still am not firm on this combo but ive had great luck with my blue plus and a purple plus on my 75g, and great colours.

For me i dont like the coral plus cause the white washes out all the blue. And i like my tank more on the blue side more than the white side.

Those 2 aqua blue special in an 8 bulb fixture will make the tank overly white. Most will run 5-6 blue in an 8 bulb.

Thanks. Never used the aqua blues before, maybe ill just stick with 6 blue plus a purple plus and a actnic lol.

So I was running it at 10-2 Atinics then 2-8 full all 8 then 8-10 Atinics at 4-5" above the water
I've noticed that some of my sps was bleaching
I'm not running 12-2 Atinics and 2-8 all 8 then 8-9 Atinics at 7" above the water line hope this helps

Dont be fooled be the name Aqua Blue....it is not blue at all. Coral Plus is more blue then the Aqua Blue Special.

I agree. I have aquablue specials. If you like the blue look, you don 't want them.

I want to keep the blue look but want great PAR and spectrum. Ill be running a 8×80 ATI fixture over my 135g sps tank once i get everything for it.

so is the actinic good for sunrise and sunset times to make the corals pop. And i thought i read that the actinic is great for spectrum?

Sunrise/sunset it does make corals pop, it's great for spectrum...just low par.
