Hi everyone, so I got my new TDS meter, and testing out my RO/DI unit that is a few years old. But wanted to get it up and running again to save money from running down to my local water company. It is ready at 4ppm. Is that too high? I know 0 is optimal and what everyone strives for. I have a 2 stage Kent Marine RO/DI unit. Should i expect 0 from it? Or is 4ppm ok?

Thanks!

4ppm is way better than 200 which is prolly what your tap water is and prolly all you can expect from a 2 stage unit so ya it's ok

Correct. I havnt had it running in 4 years...So i just cleaned out the unit, and took it for a spin. Let it run for 30 mins before I took any readings. And got 4ppm constantly over making 5gallons. My tap water reads at 142ppm.

142 sounds a little low for your tap water in sarnia, mine reads more in the 180 range and comes from the same source.

Correct that, I just checked mine and it reads 139 so water is actually cleaner than the last time I checked

Can I change the 50gpd membrane for a 75gpd membrane? My Local store has one in stock. Would it make a difference? Would it hurt? Give me more output? It will fit in the membrane housing.
