Their mean but usually only towards other clown fish in the tank. Doesn’t matter the other make or model of clown they most likely will attack lol. Now if there the only clown in your tank your golden :)

I second what Torx says. I’ve had bout 3 of them over the course of 12 years. Good by themselves as long as you don’t have other ones.

I agree...they will be the only clowns you will have in the tank and they will live longer than you will be in the hobby...LOL so don't think of it as a short term commitment...only do it if you have no desire to have other types of clowns.

If these are the FIRE CLOWNS STAY AWAY ! Meanest fish you will ever have in the tank. They will beat up and kill everything when they feel like it. I have lost SO MANY Anemones to the two that I have. They are VERY aggressive to the Anemones and thus kill them.

I have a female tomato that I have had for 25+ years. She has killed a few partners so far and every few years I have to buy a small juvenile replacement. She is a dominant fish in the tank but if you keep them with the right selection of fish you will be fine. You just need to select bigger fish or fish that stand up for themselves. Docile fish will be harassed. Even with the sometimes aggression I love mine. Mine will only attach me if i put my hand near her eggs. Other then that she is fine.

Thanks everyone for your help... wasn't planning on putting them with other fish... they are a breeding pair .... I was going to put them in a frag tsnk setup. .. if I decide to take them my plan was to continue to let them breed and try my hand at raising some baby's. ..

I think that once they start breeding they get super protective of their space, which is normal, that's their jobs to protect their babies...good luck and keep us posted.. FYI; just keep your hands out of the tank,,haha

They would be a good first time breeding attempt as they have larger fry that should be able to eat larger first foods. That makes a big difference is suitability of the fry.
