Small update. All fish still happy together. The sailfin is finally starting to heal up. There was a huge gash to his face as well as several deep scratches, he also had a large section of flesh on his face that was missing a few layers of skin. All were compliments of the previous owners tank having a rock wall fall. It will likely be a long time still until he is healed up, but still a beautiful large addition. Again though, all fish (2 regal "hippo" "Blue" tangs, 1 powder blue, 2 scopa, 2 foxface, 1 sailfin and a dozen other smaller fish) are all still happily swimming together.

I did replace the 2 WP-40's with 2 WR-15's and love them. I definitely suggest an upgrade if you can. Also...I DIY'ed a new toy that will be in the review section hopefully tonight.

Coming along nicely.
How are you finding the t5's? Still thinking of switching back to leds?

Sony Xperia Z3

Oh I am definitely going back to LED. Just a matter of time and savings. I finally got word that the final stage of the clearance letter is underway and hopefully I will be able to get my inheritance by the end of April, or maybe a little sooner. That is when I will be looking at LEDs again. The T5's are great. But there is a noticable increase in hydro, plus I liked having more control over the lights through my Apex. The growth has been great with T5, but I just prefer LED.

Looking great - I did notice that your mag floats are on the glass - do you keep them in the tank all the time?

I use to but would get little scratches from little calcification worms and fans. I also find they seem to work better when they are pulled out after cleaning the glass.
just food for thought ;)

There is eggcrate glued to them, they are not used for cleaning, they are used as magnets for some DIY frag racks :) I use the flipper to clean my glass.

I'm definitely going the DIY build with my next set

Sony Xperia Z3

I 100% prefer a DIY. You can get the Onyx housing and do the rest yourself, which has crossed my mind as well. i want something that looks nicer then just some hanging heatsinks. Yes, I have a canopy, but I still want something a little sleeker.

That's why I went with my maxspect razors. IMO the best looking led fixtures on the market. Yes, definitely better than AI or Radions.

I'll probably go with the onyx fixtures as well when I decide to do a Day led build.

I also want something controllable with my Apex. I prefer to have all in one instead of seperate for each. I LOVE the look of the Razor's, but pretty sure they aren't controllable with Apex.
