I am very impressed that all those tangs live together so peaceful, I wonder if it's because you don't have a yellow tang?

I don't think the sailfin scars are all from a rock - you could have a case of hlle, it can be reversed.

I am surprised as well lol. But they are all happy or at least appear to be. They are constantly riding the current together and all fins are looking healthy and not showing signs of nipping that happens at night.

I agree with the MHLLE (Marine Head & Lateral Line Erosion). It has stopped after the first few days in my tank. It has started healing already. The scratches are noticeably scratches though. If he would sit still, I would be able to get a pick. But he is very active and when I come close to the tank he gets excited and starts swimming like crazy and showing off.

I want to know who you keep all the tangs together, you should share your secret..very nice tank

We sing songs to them.

I will post a tank update once all the lights come on and everything opens. Hopefully before work. It is nice to get some of the frag racks out of my tank. That was the main thing that was pissing me off, the only rack I have right now is a nice one from @J_T with a few peices of SPS that I am not sure about (came in a bulk purchase at London Fragfest), I also have a bunch of acans on the sandbed still.

Been a month since the last update. I am still using H20 Salt. I have been slacking on water changes, only doing one 10 gallon every other week or so. I am not using any dosing, but I do not have a lot of SPS pieces. Loving the Onyx LEDs that I am running along side with 2 RW-15's in the DT. I run biopellets and GFO insump, as well as 8 mangroves. I am hoping to get more mangroves going, but that is not until after my next tank project. Pics to be posted soon.

Do you like that H2o salt? I normally just use the orange box stuff. I am now the proud owner of h20 because MOPS ran out of my orange stuff

I have not dosed since I switched, so I would say Yes I am happy with it so far. Cost is a huge issue though, but my tank sucked regular IO dry which led me to dosing...I am still on the fence if I am staying with H2O or going to IO RC. I ran IO RC for a while with no issues. I guess this years Christmas sales will determined what salt I keep running. I also do not want to keep playing yo-yo with salt...ack...decisions decisions.

@reef keeper h20 wont help you much with dosig since your going sps dominant. I use h20 just because its higher in elements i dont test for. And i find its a cleaner salt. But to each their own and whatever works best for their system. Ive been usin h20 for the last year or so.

These Onyx lights are stronger then I thought. I lost a lot of sps recently and thought it was my water quality, massive water changes and testing; all seemed fine and test kits seemed accurate. Parameters in check and left scratching my head. Recently been reading other threads where all seemed fine for a while, then sps started to die off. I have since cut my lighting schedule and power down. Here I thought they weren't strong enough. Since then, I run whites at 50% and blues at 75%, all is coming back. LPS and SPS are looking better every day. I guess I will reiterate what others have said before, don't under estimate your LEDs.

GFO has been off line for a few weeks and reducing bio pellets slowly. Tank is looking better each day. Trying to get down to good husbandry with a killer skimmer.
