Always but 5G RO water since we don't have a set up and husband won't allow it. It is 0ppm and $3.75 per gallon where we buy. I keep 5 x 5G son hand at all times if possible.

I am pretty confident at this point that things will be OK this afternoon. The first test came back clear so we should be all good. If not, I will be out of town tomorrow and can pick up some then. Thank you for the great offer though. You are definitely free to stop in if you want to or if it is on your way. I do have gold maul zoas fragged, one even has a rasta on the frag. I could also probably have a sunny D or gobstopper here. I should be home all day. I will PM my cell, just let me know.

So to sum up this thread:

A: We have some of the best members out there. Thank you all for offering your help.
B: If under a boil advisory and only use the water for your tank, then you are safe to keep making water through your RO/DI as the pathogens they are worried about can not survive in salt water. You will most likely exhaust the cartridges and membranes quickly though due to the raised levels of chemicals that are added to the water during the advisory and should change them out after the advisory has been lifted.
C: If you use that same RO for drinking water, you would still need to boil it and would need to change those stages prior the stopping boiling after the advisory has been lifted.

Long story short, always keep water on hand. Luckily I had just topped everything off the night before. If not, you should look at reaching out to friends outside the advisory area for water and not run it through your filter.

It is a good piece of information to know for the future. This is the first one I have been under, but I have known areas around me to be under one for a week or more.
