I'm curious if anyone has this fish and what is your experience has been with it. I'm interested in this as a future purchase.

The truth?

I love this fish so I decided to order one.

The dice were rolled and into the display he went without a QT. They are sensitive to certain medications, I had a lot of other things going on with the tanks, partly lazy, partly spoiled by clean livestock from BigAls, partly impatient. Al in all a bad time for a new fish, but you know how that goes.

It was everything I wanted it to be, gorgeous specimen. It did nibble on coral a bit, but was an awesome fish, very interesting to watch.

Around day 3 or 4 I noticed a few white spots on the fins, by day 6 he was dead.

I monitored my other 3 fish for a week or so, I was pretty sure I saw symptoms of ich with them, so they went into a copper QT to be safe. You don't want to wait too long with ich. (lol QT now or QT later)

This was a new store, I don't know if the fish was wild or not. The internet said they are the "pigeon of the sea" and most weren't concerned with a few white spots on the fins.
He was active, eating and healthy looking otherwise. None of the other fish bothered it at all.

Would I get one again? Probably not, just for their tendency to nip the coral. I would have tolerated it if he survived, but I'll admit I'm relieved that there isn't a coral-eating fish in my reef tank lol.

Great fish though. If you can tolerate the caveats, I would highly recommend one.
