pump died last night. Can anyone help me with a replacement pump or how I can fix this one? I have a waterblaster 3000 here I could maybe try and rig up. I have a new impeller I got from torx but no dice. I think the motor is fried.

Oh come on man, you only had it for a month and 8 day that I check. I am sorry to hear about the pump not working and I don't know anything about fixing a pump otherwise I will be all over it. Best of luck man

Mine died recently too. I could not connect with SeaUMarine to get a replacement and the online order I made just sits in limbo, so I bought a different pump for mine. Sedra 5000 from reefsupplies.ca. I would try and hook up with SeaUMarine though to get the origional pump. Vertex does not have any advice to give. I went through them the last time when my impeller cracked and all they said was to get a new pump like bubble blaster or sedra

That's terrible customer support from vertex. Man. I wouldn't expect that considering how much their products cost :s

That is due to the fact that they stopped production of replacement parts 5 years or so ago or something IIRC, the skimmers are older then that. They have depleted their stock of replacement parts and do not have any vendors in place to make more. It sucked, I was pissed that they recommended another companies pump at first, but then I realized that instead of trying to sell me a new skimmer, they recommended another brand to save me money, it actually is good customer service. Luckily I was able to get an impeller from someone here.

You're a good man mark. Seeing the bright side of things.

I would be less forgiving ;)

I have a waterblaster 3000 that is a bubble blaster minus the needle wheel and venturi. It's a $300 pump. Brand new.

I found the email from Vertex that I posted in another thread here.

"I'm very sorry to say that these skimmers have been discontinued for several years,
and we've recently run out of the parts. I even attempted to have them made again,
but was unable to have this done.

I have been advised that the Bubble Blaster 5000 is a perfect replacement pump, and
that the Sedra 7000 may work with some modifications. If all you need is the
impeller, there is the possibility that one from either of these pumps may fit - but
you may have to compare in person.

I wish I had better news for you, but I hope this helps a little bit."
