For anyone who uses Bayers or is looking at it as a coral dip, just wanted to issue a word of warning. A very small amount of Bayers in your system can wipe out the entire zooplankton population in your tank. I used it as a dip twice, rinsed the frags numerous times and placed them back into the system. I am guessing the dip saturated into a frag plug. The next day I couldn't find a single one in my frag tank that was fully stocked with zooplankton. It seems they are very sensitive to it.

To test this, I made a bottle of copepods and rotifers and added a very very small amount of bayers (a 1/4 drop diluted in water). The contents of the bottle immediately froze in action and began sinking to the bottom.

Two little fishes as well. I knew I had major pods from David's starter culture and didn't have anything eating them fast. I dipped my corals and then rinsed in fresh salt put them back in. I was amazed at how many pods I had it was like a blizzard of dying ones. Pretty hard to watch :(

I also use Coral RX. My issue with Revive is that it killed all the pods and didn't reliably kill pests. I could spot asterinas and nudibranch post-dip.

I have coral RX and SR coral defense.
I was actually very suprised when after dipping a few batches a while back, i saw over a dozen pods swimming around in the solution.
After rinsing them as well, I put them in a little container in my fuge to monitor and they never died. Actually made me wonder what else ( pest wise ) might / was surviving the dip. I have tried with both RX and CD now and whenever present, the pods always survive.
Does this sound about right to you or is there an explanation for this @David Caplan ?
( I use a ratio of 10ml per 1/2 gallon or 20ml per gallon. )

I recommend Coral RX.

That is pretty much what I have experienced, it seems that the dips mostly stun the pests rather than killing them. I continually make flow with a turkey baster to rip them off the corals.

I use a old small aquaclear power head to keep constant circulation going in the pail when I am doing my dip.seems to work quite well.
