So today I went into my local TSC to look for some ridged airline tubing. Of course they didn’t have any; but, this caught my eye.

My tank is on my main floor and currently I lugged up 5gal water jugs upstairs to do water changes. Ugh! Well!! not no more!!!

I saw this pump. It was only $69.99 and I bought a 50ft garden hose for $16. I through the pump in my water resivoir (brute trash can) which is down stairs. And probably a height of 9 ft and has to travel 44 of the available 50 ft hose. Well the pump had no problem pushing this water up. So now my water changes just became a dream! I use my python to take the water out. And this pump to put the saltwater back in. I just rinse it off when I was done.

On sale until the 18th at TSC

does the garden hose have brass fittings, if so you might want to stop using it, also are you sure the pump doesn't have any brass or copper internal parts.

Well, you all are a bunch of party poopers! I have emailed the company with some questions, so i will wait to hear back. I used it yesterday, no ill effects on my tank. It does say aquarium use on it. But does not specify for freshwater/saltwater applications

I will have to check the hose end that connected to the pump, I cut off the other end that goes to the aquarium because i had it in the water to reduce splash.

Party poppers we are not,the hose fittings popped into my head as I was reading this as well, we are always looking for ways to help, that's great that you've found a better way.

I think as I get older that I should modernize as much of my system as I can, water changes alone beat me up a bit.

Good luck with your new tank, when are we going to see some pictures?
