Doesn't prodibio add bacteria?  I simply assume so via the name... can't remember what products you are using.  Another +1 on probably a bacterial bloom.

Tbh most of what he has lost has been aquacultured frags from hobbiests. So to go as far as saying he's killing the ocean is a bit much.

We are truly lucky to have access to such a wide variety of frags from each others tanks.

Patience is key.

It doesn't matter.. If the toronto zoo has 2 pandas and they have 2 babies should some new zoo keeper with zero panda knowledge be allowed to care for them? When they die because he fed them pizza, is it OK since they are captive bred? No matter how u look at the world is without 2 Pandas. I agree sustainability in this hobby is something that hopefully one day will happen. But checking back with reality, aquacultured coral will not be the main source until either the coral reefs are gone, or it becomes illegal to import/collect coral. It's human nature.

quite the thread for cloudy water. I am assuming that the probiotics he is dozing is probably reacting with the pellets. it will dissipate

lol ... I agree with the prodibio + pellets = bacteria overload. :)  Happened in my brother tank and you couldnt see a fish 12 inch from the glass let alone through the tank.

He skimmed wet for a while and it all works it self out.

I thought pandas were canadian. :)

I had to look up prodibio... don't just dump stuff in your tank, ESPECIALLY if the person who told you to use it also makes a profit selling it to you... just fyi.

Here is my thread on Reef Central... I had a disaster tank from listening to the people that were selling me shit...fixing problems they were helping me create... I started listening to just hobbyists that just wanted me to succeed at the hobby, and you've seen the results.  Read through the thread and it sort of spells out everything I did to get to where I am today, even coming back from a disaster-tank (That infamous Darren guy wanted me to throw out everything and start over, said that my tank would be a disaster for "ten years" because he wanted to re-sell me everything.)

Hey yangman didn't mean to offend you. That's right it's your decisions to do what ever turns your crank, If I had a few more bucks I'd be upgrading the hardware on my tank. No problemo  here. Why don't you post some pics of your tank, thanks Jim

the prodibio stuff has some good reviews and I know that members here have used it and it has done good things for them...

Its one of those things that has to find a balance though.. too much and you will over stimulate the bacteria grwoth causing the cloudy water.  The new pellets and other additions to the tank will keep the tank in a constant state of change..... it  needs to balance itself out, once that happens then this problem will go away.

:) Where is blob and that terrorist from London... they were always fun to pick on :)

Photos of my tank are private. It adds to the mystery and allure of what the hell I actually have in my tank and what it could possibly look like. :D
