so I need a wave maker for my cube but I don't know what I actually need. Meaning just one power head or two. And the flow rate. My tank is 24" cube. I've been looking online at jebeos just cuz of price and trying to find used but no luck so far. The tank will be mixed reef
Thanks

I always like at least 2.
Set up on different cycles so at times they are both on.
Helps keep everything moving in the water column.

I'm running a 24 inch cube, I would say it's largely dictated by your rock work whether you'll need one or two. I had been running off one mp10 for 4 years, and it seems to be adequate, although there were definitely spots that weren't moving as well as others. I move the tank recently and a change in my rock scape came along with it, which resulted in me not being happy with my flow. I just upgraded to the gyre 130. It's expensive, and I'm still playing with it to determine my ideal set up, but I do like it. Mine is dialed way back at the moment, tons of flow. Before I bit the bullet with the gyre I was considering 2x RW4. If you are looking for a little cost option I would go with 2xRW4, but no less than 2... unless you don't have a lot of rock to block the flow. Just my 2 cents

I used a wp10 on my bio cube 29 and it would spill water out the front. I have to keep it turned down a little . Seemed to keep everything clean

if you're referring to the difference between the RW4 and RW8, a lot of people are saying how strong the new 'RW' line of Jebao wavemakers are. I cant find the links at the moment but when I was doing my research a month back I remember finding multiple examples of people saying that 2 RW8's would be overkill.

edit... google rw4 vs rw8 and click the first link (forum) and read, someone stating 2xrw8 was blowing sand out of the corners of his 120G
