Got a wp40. Not sure if I want a wave, or just varying flow.
What do you guys think.
I currently have a hell of a wave in there. Any issues with stress on the tank with a wave.

The Reef Crest mode seems to be the most popular with many reefers but the beauty of these powerheads is that you can experiment with all the different modes to see how your corals react. Typically on a reef the wave action can really vary depending on time of day, weather, tide etc. For this reason I'm not a big fan of a constant flow rate throughout the tank.
Of course the wave action you choose will depend a lot on the types of corals you keep as some will like higher flow than others.

I run mine on else mode and my mp40 on reefcrest mode. I loved the wave and so did my corals, but my tank is a older one and i read that waves can weaken and make a old tank split. So i wasnt down with that lol.

I splurged on a Reeflink for my MP10's due to the fact that the power here glitches often. This meant I always lost my night mode as when you are away you do not realize a power glitch happened.

Even with the modes that come with the Vortech's, I found the Reeflink gave WAY more control and wave patterns that cannot be done with the pumps themselves.

I no longer concern myself with the wave action as I can have a reefcrest type action within the nutrient transport mode.

Any with multiple pumps should consider a Reeflink. You will be pleasantly surprised with the performance.
