Hi all Happy Mother's day to all you mothers out there;)

I was doing some research on the net the passed week and trying to find out what the best thing would be to does with my system.

I'm running a 100G with sump Bio reactor and Calcium reactor. I'm just not to sure on what I should be dosing as I'm running calcium reactor for Alk, Cal and I'm guessing trace elements. Goes anyone know exactly what a Cal reactor is adding to my tank? On the coal food side I do add Reef-Roids and frozen Missas once a week, I also feed my fish twice a day.

About a year ago I was dosing KZ Coral Vitalizer and K-Balance but didn't see to much improvement and way to $$$$$$$$ will not be going back to that rout.

If I dose anything I'm going to try Brightwell produces :D

Scheduled water changes replenish a lot of things.

Personally I dose calk/alk/mag and manually add FUEL and LUGOLS. That's about it besides food. When I slack on my water changes things get poor quickly.

Yes but I run a Cal. reactor and just started to run a Kalk reactor. I run the make up water not really for calcium supplication but to help with the PH as the RO/DI water is like 5.7 and then you add the CO2 from reactor and the ph can drop quite a bit. I just find Trace can be a funny thing, it like a rubber band, it builds and builds and hits a point and bam release all the tension at once and Trace elements are the same builds and builds and bam freaking Algae everywhere and lease you standing there saying what the hell happened.

I do regular water changes, and all I am dosing is Alk, Acropower and coral-vite. my water parameters are always spot on with 0ppm P04 and 0pmm N03.
I USED to dose just about everything and wound up messing my tank up a fair bit and my SPS were dying. Then one of our very knowledgeable members, ( Eric ) helped me get my tank back in great shape and now all my corals grow at a stunning rate.
it is possible to "love your tank to death" as I found out LOL Sometimes less can equal much more!

agree with the others, why are you dosing if its not needed...curious...
sometimes we can get carried away with things, we use things and are not sure why, we dose when its not needed but do so because member b does...
just my 2 cents...

I don't do water changes so I have to replenish everything myself and I use the entire Aqua vitro lineup with reef roids phyto and amino acid and hula supplement. Unless you have a coral tank packed full of sps water changes should keep it all in check only thing you should need is coral food to help boost colour. If you think your trace elements are high and contributing to algae ever add a capful of prime next time you change your carbon it actually pulls out a lot of it.

Dosing does not make a great tank. It is a combination of everything while dosing appropriately. Some people always think that better lights will fix the issue or dosing will get the growth they want. But it is a combination of every drop of water, ray of light, peice of equipment working together.
