Anyone know if a 1500 watt champion generator would suffice for a return pump, heater, and maybe a power head. It seems like it doen't have too much power.

Biggest draw would be the heater most likely. How many watts is it?
But, I would think it would suffice with no issues
Say even a 500 watt heater, up to a 120 watt return and the power head would still only be about 50-60% of the rated watts which is good.
